Coffee & Pretty Things will be a recount of my effort in making my life (and hopefully yours) prettier, one craft and cup of coffee at at time.
Coffee
I first started drinking coffee as I studied abroad in Germany, where a cappuccino was often cheaper than a glass of still water in a restaurant. I used coffee to socialize, adjust to the time difference, and find a community at the local Starbucks. Since then I have learned to love black coffee and find joy in learning about all aspects of coffee. Join me in exploring the world of coffee through recipes, hacks, coffee shops, products, and anything else I want try.
Pretty Things
I debated about using the word ‘pretty’ in the blog title. I have a love/hate relationship with the word ‘pretty’. I love pretty things the way I love flowers, a good flannel shirt, crafting, or candles. I hate the word ‘pretty’ in the way that it insinuates that there is only one form of ‘pretty’ and that is overly feminine, frilly, and pink. So, here is my definition of pretty:
Pretty (adj): anything that is creative, thoughtful, fun, or that brightens the world (or my day) in anyway
I strive to explore what makes life pretty and plan to do this through ‘pretty projects’ and giving kudos to the pretty things in life.
